Tell us about - what is this Instagram account is about?
I started as a place to share nice photos I had the opportunity to stumble upon — usually photos about interior, cafes & food. Basically anything that caught my attention. I'd also use the account to showcase some of my own works covering graphics works, food styling, calligraphy, photography and my recent interest — baking. I hope that I would be able to deliver my stories and message through my works.
How did you get into baking despite being a full time professional graphic designer?
I got into the baking trend during the MCO period. The shift to work-from-home, time became flexible thus making it easier to do things that I'm passionate about. I mostly spend the weekends tinkering with baking pastry & making dessert so juggle between work and kitchen fun during this period is pretty much manageable.
Where do you get your inspiration for your recipes?
My inspiration usually comes from desserts that I've tasted myself from different parts of the world, as well as those that I came across over IG and YouTube. I like to decorate my work nicely, as such, I do a lot of research online, which in turn also gives me inspiration for my next project!
How did you come up with Matcha Milk Spread recipe?
Matcha milk spread can be a daily meal essential from breakfast toast spread, pancake toppings to filling for any bake goods and many ways to consume. It is rich & creamy in texture with a bit of sugar to balance by a little sweetness.
This month’s theme is about first love. Tell us why you chose AJISAI / Matcha as your first love.
AJISAI / Matcha is my big love and I use it for almost all my bake stuffs and beverages. I love the umami and nuttiness from AJISAI / Matcha Powder, is creamy and fragrant and this is why I chose to use it for my recipe - Matcha Milk Spread which I can have it everyday.

10g AJISAI / Matcha Powder
200g Milk
100g Whipping Cream
30g Sugar

Method To Assemble

  1. Dissolve matcha powder in 50g hot milk, whisk with bamboo chasen for clump free texture.
  2. In a saucepan, heat 150g milk, whipping cream and sugar in low-medium heat, continue whisk for more than 15 mins until mixture tuned into a thicker texture (do not boil over).
  3. Add matcha mixture earlier and continue mixing until thickened and smooth.
  4. Transfer to a glass container or jar and chill in the refrigerator.
