What is Masak–Masak? What is the idea and philosophy behind the brand?

Masak-Masak is a cooking school in Ben's Independent Grocer. We wanted Masak-Masak to be a space where customers can come together not only to learn cooking but to have fun. It is also a platform for us to interact with our customers.

Why is it named ‘Masak-Masak’?

Masak-Masak is to play cooking in Malay language. Fit to its name, this is for leisure learning, and there is no pressure on the students to cook like professionals. It’s a place where they can experiment and at the same time learn the correct way of cooking in a fun and pleasant environment.

What kind of cuisine is being taught at Masak – Masak? Does it focus on certain types of food, or are there varieties?

We don’t have a specified focus in terms of types, it can vary from hot cooking, baking, for the adults and kids.

Apart from cooking classes/workshops, are there any other workshops that are held at Masak-Masak?

Masak-Masak is also a venue for our suppliers who want to showcase their new products, or even private classes for kids birthday party, bridal shower and team building for companies.
